Deleting this folder on a montly basis usually clears up a good 20GB for me.
I believe the DocumentRevisions data will get automatically cleaned up when disk space gets low enough. That is — you will get a space boost by deleting it, but the actual effect is mostly psychological, as that space is never really "permanently" lost in the first place :)
Got rid of 200GB
Yeah, that's what I believed too. It actually doesn't work at all on my current setup. I had to delete the folder manually, because OS X kept on telling me that my computer is low on disk space. I suggest to delete this folder with a single line command (that requires root privileges) instead of using one of the many crapware claiming to recover disk space. They are almost always very bad pieces of software engineering.
Here is how to delete that folder. Be careful. http://osxdaily.com/2012/02/20/clear-versions-history-auto-save-cache-data-in-mac-os-x/
I had this issue last week and deleted a 96 gig file of the same name.
Thanks will check this out in the AM!
Had this problem as well. Turned off autosave will prevent the disk from filling up fast but you lose the autosave feature. Deleting it manually from time to time works.
How did you turn off the autosave? Is this an OS thing? Cannot find it in Yosemite.
Niiiice! This worked! Here's a helpful article for how to find said folder for anyone else with the same problem.
Here is another helpful article to tell you how to delete the .DocumentRevisions-V100 folder. BE CAREFUL!!!

I'm using Sketch (I'm not sure if that applies to Creative Cloud too) and sketch is saving revision files while not deleting the older ones. Which results in huuuge chunk of space disappearing.
I would recommend downloading DaisyDisk and run it as an administrator. I think you will find a folder called .DocumentRevisions-V100 being the problem.
