Part of the reason I started this thread is that to me bikes are pretty personal. I got a lot of stories and had some good times/adventures on my bike. If anything I like hearing people's stories and their thoughts - I'm sure the car thread would have similar aspects but as someone who rides to explore, feel free, commute, or exercise there's something more personal about my bike than my car.
And riding in the Bay Area got me hooked on cycling.

I just bought this bike in Oakland, in red. Great ride, and given its internal gearbox it's the smoothest bike I've ridden yet: http://publicbikes.com/p/PUBLIC-V7i-2014
