Miyatas always have a special place in my heart. Had a Miyata 721a when I first came back to California from college and was getting into riding bikes. Always lusted after the 610/1000 series and if I ever end up with the dream stable/unlimited space, these would definitely be in the mix.
I commuted on one of those exact bikes all through college. My parents bought matching Miyata six-tens brand new in 1984, and when i moved out in 2006 it was one of the beater bikes in my garage. now it's moved on to be my dad's friend's winter commuter - over thirty years of near daily use!
Love the early 80s Miyata models, my 912 is so smooth.
Ditto. My everyday / work / pub / bar bike is a Miyata One-Ten. I've tried to keep all the parts original, or at least, legit japanese Vintage, which is an expensive exercise if you live on the other side of the world in Australia.

When it comes to bikes I'm a japanophile. My daily rider is an '84 Miyata Sixten
