Currently using Slack, and it's great.
It's suited more for text communication than what our intended use case would be. Channels work great for text, but get bloated with images.
As a side note, can you explain why Slack over, say, Skype? (What we use for office communication)
I'd be down to adopt it, but I'd need a reason/understanding.
Slack divides projects into separate channels to keep communication focused on specific topics.
If you're talking about a project, then switch to talking about football, and jumping back to a different project, it's hard to keep track of everything.
We're using a lot less email after we started to use Slack.
