It's for the most part a very solid a photo-editing app that happens to have sharing platform.
I have to agree with you on the confusing part especially on the Camera. The icons for photo adjustments look great but I often find myself forgetting which one is which (Brightness / Contrast, Highights, etc). My wife uses the app as it does have some fantastic filters, but I also notice she encounters the same problems I mention above.
Camera+ is my go to photo app and this latest release with manual controls is brilliant.
I used VSCO when it was just filters in Adobe Lightroom, their filters have always been super solid. The actual photo editing features are pretty great too and shooting manual can be great. The biggest downfall I think is how vague all of the UI is, even when picking filters.
As far as the social platform, it basically allows you to have a simple mobile photography portfolio and a follow/feed system without the added popularity contest of likes and favs. You can't even view how many people follow you which I think is pretty great.

I don't get VSCOcam. Can somebody explain it to me?
I tried to use it and got lost in nameless icons and and vague navigation. Is it trying to be a photo sharing platform like Instagram? Is it just a camera? I used it for 5 minutes and have no idea.
The whole thing is confusing.
